Description: Family Matters was a US situational comedy about the middle-class, African-American family, The Winslows, based in Chicago, IL. The show aired from 1989 through 1997. Family Matters initially concentrated on the life of police offer Carl Winslow and his family; wife Harriet, son Eddie and daughters Laura and Jody. Half way through the first season of Family Matters the character Steve Urkel (Jaleel Whitened) was introduced to the show and his personality quickly grew to become the primary character.
